Explore our capabilitiesOngoing Business Counsel
Outside counsel. Inside the decision.
Ongoing Business Counsel is a long-term relationship with outside counsel. It does more than answer isolated questions: it stays close to the company, retains the context behind earlier choices, and keeps future decisions connected to a coherent strategy.
Continuity avoids rebuilding institutional context with every new matter and helps identify risk and opportunity earlier.

The Monroe StandardIn Memoriam

In MemoriamEvaldo Matthes (1930–2026)
Born to German immigrants, Evaldo lived his 96 years by two principles: family comes first, and your word is your bond. He spent his entire working life in construction—all of it with a single real estate developer—and never took a vacation: he used that time to take on additional building work, because there was always a purpose greater than his own comfort.
He did not teach values by talking about them. He showed them with his hands, every day, for nearly a century.
The culture of this firm—honesty, courage, and a steadfast commitment to our clients’ interests—did not come from a handbook. It came from him. He was grandfather to our founding partner, Thiago, and grandfather in every way that matters to our managing partner, Camila. What he built in concrete, we strive to honor in every matter entrusted to us. This is who we are. This is how we work. We carry his standard forward, whatever it asks of us—today and always.
With gratitude,Thiago and Camila
We do not end these pages with a call to action.
Only with gratitude for those who came before us—and a commitment to leave those who follow an example worth carrying forward.
Our legal thinking is collected in Monroe Perspectives.
